About SAFERout

SAFERout combines a number of GoogleMaps API services to give you your route options and pulls data from the NYPD Motor Vehicle Collisions API provided by NYC OpenData to locate relevent collisions along your routes. SAFERout's assesment of route safety is based solely on comparing raw collision history data for each route. The NYPD Motor Vehicle Collisions API records all collisions in NYC beginning July 2012
